A Modular System

A speculative exploration of interior design.

How can a space have ultimate functionality and flexibility so that the interiors can last as needs and purposes change?

Exploring a speculative alternative interior system for the main VCUarts building Pollack, (my alma mater College of the Arts).

The new design is an in-flux system on a grid. The walls of the floor can be moved up and down to create any size room necessary using an interface screen. The walls internally store all assets including tables, chairs, shelves, and a teaching computer. The walls can change color and function like screens. While the room is flexible, ideal presets were designed based on psychological research on education, creativity, and spaces.
